Abortion - The Hidden Holocaust Part 2

Why does abortion occur?

Medical Treatment to the Mother

Sometimes the unborn child dies as a secondary and unintended result of medical intervention to save the life of the Mother. These types of abortion have always been legal and to a degree morally acceptable. Some statistics indicate that less than 1% of abortions take place to save the life of the mother.

Rape or Incest

Often a woman will seek an abortion when she conceives a child due to rape or sexual abuse from a relative. Cases where this is the motive are very, very rare.

Though it is a terrible ordeal for the woman to go through it must be remembered that the conceived child has done no wrong and yet is being punished by being killed.

A key element to countering pro-abortion groups is to stick to the facts – abortion kills babies whatever the motivation may be.

Health of the Baby

In some cases tests reveal that a baby may be born with physical problems then some parents chose abortion. However, as we will see in our second point, The Slippery Slope, abortion as a solution to handicapped or deformed children is not a safe or moral basis for killing the child.

Unwanted Child

The vast majority of abortions take place because the child is simply not wanted. Maybe because of the shame of a teenage pregnancy, the threat of rejection by family, friends or society, or for many other reasons a person may choose abortion.

However, we come back to the fact that all abortions, for whatever reason, kill babies.
