Waiting

Waiting. That has been the word for the week. Waiting. Our baby's arrival is imminent and we are waiting. In some ways it is hard to get on with things because I know at any moment I may get the news that I need to drive quickly, yet safely, to the delivery suite. And even though I must ever be ready for the call, life goes on and things must still get done.Some Thessalonians had a similar attitude about the imminent return of Christ. They knew Christ could return at any moment and so they stopped working. They became lazy and consequently a bad testimony for Christ. (Read II Thessalonians 2 for more...) 

Every believer must be looking for the return of Jesus Christ. Yet as we wait, we must be working. Christ said the fields are white unto harvest and we must all be busy serving the Lord of the Harvest!

And by the way... we're still waiting.
