Higher IQ Equals Less Faith?

Now, this report is enough to hurt a person's feelings! http://www.telegraph.co.uk

Here is the main statement from the article:
People with higher IQs are less likely to believe in God, according to a new study.

Now some have already argued that such a study and it's results are too simplistic. It completely ignores cultural and social influences on those who move in differing circles.

It could be easily proven that there are individuals with a very high IQ who do believe in God, but then we get into arguing via statistics.

Why would someone with a higher IQ not believe in God? Well, you would need to consider not just the IQ, but the influences in their social and academic circles. It used to be that every scientist, more or less, believed in God, but many of them probably did not really. But, because of the social and academic influences of the time they professed to believe. Now things have changed. So instead of looking at IQ levels, we need to consider the many other factors involved.

My grandfather used to know a brilliant scientist who understood everything you could know about molecular structures, but he could not make a cup of tea. The headline could be, "Intelligent People Incapable of Simple Tasks".

Headlines and statistics are no true measure of the facts of life as both can be easily manipulated.
