A True Moving of the Holy Spirit

Over at the Pulpit Magazine John MacArthur has just started a new series on identifying a true work of the Holy Spirit: Part One is here . I believe it ties in well with the current conversation concerning Todd Bentley.

He begins by referring to Jonathan Edwards who listed five results of a true movement of the Holy Spirit from I John 4:

In short, a true work of the Holy Spirit:

1. Exalts the true Christ,


2. Opposes Satan’s interests,


3. Points people to the Scriptures,


4. Elevates truth, and


5. Results in love for God and others.

I would encourage you to go over and read the whole article. I would encourage you to read it in light of the many so-called revivals we see and hear about; the most current fraud being that of Todd Bentley at the Lakeland Revival.
